About

ANHYDE

ANHYDE website is meant to primarily document and keep track of the attempts of one curious human, who goes by the nickname of “ANHYDE”, and put them together in one form that is rather easy to navigate.

Even as I am working on this About Page, I am still asking myself the following question:

“Why am I even bothering about making this website?”

– Me

It is most likely nobody would find this website interesting. Perhaps this website won’t do anything meaningful for anyone, including myself. However, usefulness and fame were never the point. The point is to try, to create, to practice, and to understand as a consequence.

We as human beings tend to overlook the difficulties of others’ efforts or circumstances.
We underestimate how much time is spent on just moving from one place to another. We underestimate how much extra work and errands others have outside of their primary studies or career, especially their inability to afford to get any external help. We underestimate how much time and effort is needed to create a simple musical piece that only lasts a couple of minutes. We even underestimate how many edits and rewrites it takes to create a truly masterful writing.

I believe that one of the best ways to eliminate this rift of misunderstanding is to try many things: try making music, try programming, try painting, try cooking your own meal, try cleaning your own house, try traveling to the opposite side of the earth, try building your own home network. The more we try and experience new things, the more we shatter our prejudice and broaden our own understanding of the realities of the world we live in.

Embrace the inconvenience. Embrace the sluggishness. Embrace the suck. Embrace doing less.

Try and experience what we think is not worth our time.
Only then can we see the limits of an average person.
Only then can we truly appreciate the arts, the technology, the service that many of us take for granted.
Only then can we learn the true values of what others do.

Most importantly, never forget to enjoy the process.
